What does this mean?

I'm waiting for a package. The sender assures me that it has been handed over to Royal Mail but when I put the code in the tracking I get this...

"We have been notified that your item is being shipped by the retailer; the next scan will appear when we receive this item"

It has not changed for a few days. What does this mean?

It means it has not been scanned into RMs system yet.

2 Possible reasons.

1. They have given you the wrong tracking number or it has changed.
2. They have not sent it yet.

Either way you best shot at getting more information is to contact the sender and confirm details.
