POST OFFICE: FINANCIAL SPECIALIST - CONSULTATIVE BALLOT RESULT

The Post Office recently, without an agreement, instigated the covert filming of our Financial Specialist (FS) members working in Crown Offices by Mystery Shoppers. As a consequence of the complaints received from our members, a consultative ballot was held on the following CWU policy:

Policy: CWU opposes the unwarranted filming of Financial Specialists by the Mystery Shopper and as such believes the Post Office should stop this unagreed practice immediately


I am pleased to report to Branches that our FS members have overwhelmingly supported our policy and have rejected the concept of covert recording.

Associated is a copy of the ballot result from the Independent Scrutineer – Popularis.

As a consequence of this ballot result, I have written to Kevin Gilliland, Network and Sales Director, urging him to respect the wishes of his employees, our members, in ceasing this controversial activity immediately.

We have written to our FS members directly providing them with a copy of the ballot result.

This ballot result is a further demonstration of how much the Post Office is out of touch with the views and opinions of our members. Further developments will be reported.
