Eligible employees can now apply to buy shares in the Retail Offer with priority allocation

The Government today announced the start of the flotation of Royal Mail.

An approved price range prospectus has now been published. It contains important details about the company. Anyone who intends to buy shares should read the prospectus.

You do not have to take part in the Employee Priority Offer, but if you want to, you can apply to buy extra shares in addition to receiving Free Shares.

You will have to pay for shares which you apply to buy under the Employee Priority Offer.

12 days to apply

Eligible employees can now apply to buy shares in the Retail Offer with priority allocation, under the Employee Priority Offer. Eligible employees will pay the same price per share under the Employee Priority Offer as the public will pay in the wider Retail Offer. This is also the same price as institutional investors will pay.

The latest time and date for submission of online applications in the Employee Priority Offer is 11.59pm on 8 October 2013.

The latest date for the receipt of completed hard copy application forms in the Employee Priority Offer is 11.59pm on 8 October 2013.

You have a total of 12 days to apply in the Employee Priority Offer.

It is important to remember that the value of shares can go down as well as up.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

So I'm expecting an(other) RM missive telling me it's all wonderful and Yes, I really should get on-board because it's My Royal Mail.. Like I'm going to fund this (time-limited) tosh when I've got sod-all security from day-to-day..

but Bless 'em, they're thinking of the little man.
