Do you really think Stan and Oliver sorry Billy and Dave have got the stomach for a real fight that would involve December strikes???!!!! They wouldn't want to upset the public would they! Most posties i know and work with have got the stomach for a fight but somehow i sense it has been a while since Big Billy and Dave have used their stomachs for a fight. Life is too easy for them and they are far removed from the daily struggles and tiredness that we face in our delivery offices. Even a lot of area reps are just Royal Mail minions in disguise. Most of them are more concerned about losing their fully paid release than fighting for the rank and file. A union with great members at foot soldier level but its leaders are a joke!!!!

this time things are a whole different ball game I really don't think we have nothing to lose by striking over the xmas period bollocks to them I say

Guess what I got today................yet another postcard from RM extolling the virtues of privatisation........tbh I think they may have over egged it, I mean even the dimmest amongst us must have some concerns over the need to keep pushing a busted flush. Actually now having read it RM are extolling the virtues of not taking industrial action...........from their point of view of course.

Arrived with a letter from the union, telling me about the forthcoming ballot, and why I should say yes.
This I already know, the ballot should have happened weeks ago. Get the f**k on with it.

We are not thick,we know it is only about our pay and conditions but we could have disrupted the sell off,but no,ballot put back another week and if there is a yes vote strike action back another two weeks why why????

Where was Dave Ward ?
I know Billy Hayes was in Portugal but you would have thought we might have had a Senior member of the PEC being interviewed
and calling the Con/Dems all the F**kers of the day for the backhanded way they have sold our jobs.

Royal Mail drag out talks until the autumn knowing that it would be pointless for CWU to strike as any IA would have less impact during the summer period. However, now that autumn is here the stakes are raised as mail will build and build creating the ideal time for strike action leading into Christmas. Hence the ballot announcement last week and distribution of ballot papers from today (Friday) - I understand delayed by one week to ensure that the wording on the ballot paper stood less chance of being challenged by Royal Mail and upheld in the High Court.

Be patient, vote Yes for industrial action on the ballot paper, get your colleagues to do the same and we can look forward to an overwhelming majority in favour of strike action to protect (and improve) our pay, terms and conditions, pension and job security.

No i'll be voting yes, support strike action as i have since 1990 when i started working for royal mail, but if you think your pay /conditions are going to be protected for life you are living in dream land.

Get real even the union are only attempting to get a maximum of 10 years, yet here you are spouting off how a yes vote will secure pay/conditions for your entire working life with royal mail.

I'm just wondering how the terms and conditions can be protected for the next 3, 5 or 10 years because from my perspective they haven't been protected for the last 5 years and that included industrial action.
