Too old to be a postie??

Post by hornet1881 »

Left Royal mail 4 years ago to work abroad after 7 years in DO, am now back & wondering if at 48 they would consider me too old to be out on delivery?

Wouldn't think so - I am 50 and we have a 63 year old still out delivering.

When I joined last year I was 3 months short of my 47th birthday and had spent the previous 27 years doing on office job, and someone who joined shortly after me is a few years older.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Cheers for the replies, passed interview for Specialist Relay Driver a few weeks ago now but thought I'd apply for delivery work (must be mad) as there's a vacancy nearby & I miss the banter with fellow workers the like of which I've not experienced since. Thanks again, just goes to prove that Royal Mail has the best workers, runners not included or 90% of management.
