UK Mail, one of the largest independent mail and logistics services companies, is making a considerable investment into a depot in Aldershot, creating new jobs in the local area.

The new facility will be opened in the autumn on Ivy road in Aldershot and will expand UK Mail's capacity to respond to a significant increase in B2B and B2C deliveries, driven by a take-up of online retailers. The new Aldershot depot which will be replacing the existing Camberley Depot will double UK Mail's capacity in the area.

UK Mail's new depot will also be helping to develop the community and tackle unemployment in the area as they're looking to recruit more drivers for the new site in preparation for the peak period.

Guy Buswell, UK Mail's CEO, said: "The new Aldershot depot will improve our access to the motorway network as well as increasing our capacity to handle the growing volume of parcels we have been experiencing in the area.

"Our daily parcel volumes have increased by 25% compared to the same period last year, this is largely driven by the increase in home deliveries related to online shipping and we're expecting the e-commerce industry to continue to grow. Delivery is crucial in the e-retailing sector and the investment into new infrastructure will ensure we continue to deliver successfully."

"With the addition of the new site and the impending peak period upon us we will of course be pushing forward to create more jobs in the local area to ensure we meet the demands from our customers and maintain our very high service standards".
