The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Just an ordinary, run of the mill, kind of day.
Got a bollocking for something I didn't do. Again.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Hey there everyone!
First of all, I would like to thank you all for doing such impressive work!
My name is Timofey Gubatenko, student from Russia. I am currently doing research about civil services in various countries. Specifically, I am interested in duties and responsibilities of mail carriers and I would like to take Royal Mail as a benchmark for my analysis of postal efficiency. Believe it or not, RM is one of the exemplary postal operators there is! So the data you provide would be of huge help!
I have several questions regarding duties of rural mail carrier for my research, would you be so kind as to answer them? Well, basically i need to know what does rural carrier do during normal day? Step by step.
Of which parts does rural postmen day consist? What are their duties during each of the part?
How do they report all the mail and parcels they deliver?
Thank you so much, you are of great help!
Best regards, Tim

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Busy all week. Getting back into work mode was ok. Delivering parcels again most days which made for long tiring days. Due a revision soon which will be interesting to say the least. Last 1 didn't work well.
Did my walk on Saturday then went off to deliver parcels. Loaded everything in the van and delivered my walk from it. Did the walk about half an hour quicker by walking. Moved the van once. Wish I could do it that way every day.

So light the DOM was on the shop floor asking people to take outstanding holiday leave. Then the LMs came round informing us BT2010 says we must flex.
The machine stops.

Scotland dead (no bank holiday for us); 1 bag, no oversize, no packets, but we will pay for it the rest of the week. Also told by the manager that we could no longer use the back doors of the van on delivery ( back doors only to be used to load up van at the office). Side doors only to be used on delivery. Plenty of the usual RM BS at the worktime learning.
And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed-if all records told the same tale-then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

That's stupid, even for a line manager. The side doors are inappropriate for that really.pahoehoe wrote:Scotland dead (no bank holiday for us); 1 bag, no oversize, no packets, but we will pay for it the rest of the week. Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
