Just as a matter of interest - did you decide to take shelter of your own free will or did you need a WTL, permission from your DOM and a memo from the HSE before taking such drastic action?krussel wrote:..... causing me to take shelter at a bus stop LOL.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Long, hot and humid day. Started off with some thunder and lightening and a shower. Cleared later and the sun came out mid afternoon. Finished tea time after another parcel run and shattered.

One day late ... but got hammered with rain - twice - on Monday - and despite two attempts at "newspaper in CAT Trainers" they were still p*ss wet through this morning - fortunately still have a pair of YDS trainers (OK treads a bit "iffy") - but at least they're bloody waterproof. Dry today - HA !!
Assume the YDS trainers were ditched (despite positive vibes in the survey from all I knew who had a pair) - because they were good - therefore cost too much - HA !!

Drenched on Monday. Got caught 3 times and stayed wet all day. Parcels in the afternoon. Dry and sunny all day today. Parcels again. Asked the union rep if he knew anything about the current negotiations, if, or not they are continuing. Blank look on his face.

Yes. Could do with my pay rise. Makes a lot of difference when you are living on the edge of poverty. Our rep seems to have the same expression but he is DOM's pet.heapsy wrote:Blank look on his face.

That is because he just returned from a two week holiday - do you keep in touch with everything when you are on a two week holiday or do you just fret over all the parcel overtime you are missing ? lolheapsy wrote:Drenched on Monday. Turn your soaking wet trainers on their side and place your missus' hairdryer about 2 inches away from them then put it on full, err, blow - they'll be dry in 5 - 10 minutes for each trainer. Open a window though, or the room will stink.RedBagMan wrote:One day late ... but got hammered with rain - twice - on Monday - and despite two attempts at "newspaper in CAT Trainers" they were still p*ss wet through this morning - fortunately still have a pair of YDS trainers (OK treads a bit "iffy") - but at least they're bloody waterproof. Blimey what a hot day out on the streets. The sun had some real power and not a cloud all day. Temp showed 33 deg in the car driving home
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Dropping like flies in our place for 1 reason or another. Hammered with mail and parcels are just about under control. Absolutely baking today.
