Long hot day. Finished late due to packet duty. Knackered. Had a bunch of managers in looking at health n safety issues together with the DOM and the office coaches. Never seen so many at once.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Started to struggle today on the last hour. One side of the road was in the blazing sun. Must have been 45 deg c in the sun and every time I stopped for a packet (plenty) I melted. Got back to the office feeling very hot and tired really.
Being back in the office did not help much as the temp on the sorting floor was 94 deg F. For fook sake

Went into the toilet and splashed a lot of cold water over my face to try and cool off. I am getting pissed off with the situ.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Seemed like the hottest day so far today, or maybe it's just the constant heat wearing me down. Anyway I cut off and let the manager take my excess out

I would like to thank my local council for dumping an unannounced bulk mailing on us. Every single f'ing house
Luckily it was slightly cooler today due to a breeze.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Hammered. Worked all day and finished off with a parcel run. They had people in early sorting and they still had to cancel the lapsing. That'll be the falling mail volumes again.

Busy day again and still absolutely scorching. Finished off with another parcel run so another late finish. Had a brief chat about the heat and not rushing but informed by someone from HR, who was there for another purpose that we couldn't have any fans.

Used to like working a Saturday morning, but absolutely hate having to work Saturday as if it were a normal working day.

Cloudy today with a bit of drizzle....it was lovely after the horrendous heat all week. Packets low, guess thats due to everyone being out in the sun and not sat at their computer ordering loads of crap.

Went out on delivery today and found out a really nice and friendly fellow whome i had got to know well over the years had died suddenly of a heart attack, unexpected right out of the blue, its happened to all delivery staff over the years i know,it got me thinking what with park and loop, bigger rounds, crap managers, the sell off ect ect,we all seem to keep saying we hate this job now,the best part of this job always has been and always will be meeting genuinely nice people, just sayin.

With this summer absorbtion thing I do sometimes cover old deliveries from my past. It actually can be quite sentimental at times walking the old routes. However it is when you come across an old customer you once knew and ask about their husband or wife etc only to be told they have since died.

Start of a slightly cooler period on Saturday. Finished a bit earlier than usual and tbh I was glad. Knackered at the end.

Hot and humid after night rain.
One quite big thunder storm towards the end of the delivery causing me to take shelter at a bus stop LOL.
