Mail prospect is 'horrifying'

Should the Royal Mail be privatised? The prospect seems quite horrifying. When it is remembered in the 80s it seemed quite normal to sell off the energy companies, we now find ourselves in the position where our gas and electricity are foreign owned and pensioners are in fuel poverty.

Certainly Keith Franklin, the union official, was in no doubt it shouldn't be privatised. He wrote a quite compelling letter in the Chronicle against it.

It wasn't so long ago in Bath we had threats of post office closures. Then political pressure could be exerted because these were our publicly owned post offices and our MP had to listen; bug business would just laugh. How many post offices would we have left in Bath?
The Conservatives have this strange ideology if it moves, privatise it. Yes, sometimes it works but the postal service should always be in the public sector.

It is our innate right to have a post office in every district and postal deliveries.

I wont go into the arguments against privatisation as you already know them but it is important that people know what it will mean for them. Therefore I'm asking everyone with a twitter or facebook account to make their friends aware of the Save our Royal Mail campaign and urge them to sign the various petitions.
