Boycott the 'Courier'

Assuming we all agree that we are opposed to privatisation, and assuming that we agree that the 'Courier' is now no more than a propaganda tool for Royal Mail, how's this for an idea ?

We send every CWU member 'Return to Sender' stickers, so when they receive any items from Royal Mail, either newsletters, briefings, special Courier editions, etc, we 'Return To Sender' without opening.

This would not only cut off one of their 'access' routes, but it would also demonstrate our contempt for what they are saying.

Well you would not find me striking i just want out now and next year at some point would be fine for me.
All i want is too leave with as much cash as possable,privatisation is inevitable in my opinion but do think returning the bloody courier idea is a good one.The ones i do open sicken me to the very core of my being when i see posties (or actors) grinning from ear to ear in the royal mails propoganda tool.Either they do not do the jobs that we have to do or have been bribed to appear in the magazine with a handome severance payment,this would be the only way that that magazine would have me grinning from ear to ear.
I think the returning of that pile of crap would be a great idea,and also would save quite a few trees too boot.

Wow I sense your emotions, when I wrote 'Courier' i was tempted to say 'Pile of Crap', returning items won't save trees but it may save jobs ?

I want out now not only does it feel the right time to go but i need to start living for me,we have our plans to start enjoying life now before the job renders me physically unfit to be able to live the life we want to live.
I suppose in a way i am lucky in that i work with a laid back bloke who has no wish to run around everywhere and the walk is ok i have a job that for now pays a reasonable wage for unskilled labour.There are worse jobs out there.I have been in this job for nearly 15 years now and feel its time to start living life with my health as it is before it gets worse.
I can only say that i fear for the people who have children to support and want to stay in the job until retirement,privatisation is going to happen like it or not and the future of the business looks extremely bleak and i can only see a future of a reduced workforce on low reduced wages and t and c non existent.

Yes. Though what effect if any it will have remains to be seen. It would at least send them a message that we don't believe the constant stream of shite that flows from their gobs.

I would just ask what the criteria was. For instance, if it got top marks for propaganda and the likes, then I understand, but if it has won for actually being good, which it quite clearly isn't, at all, then I can only assume there are few internal papers, and the others are extremely bad.

Got mine cancelled too.
Just kept sending it back refused, and then HR sent me a preference form, filled it in and it's stopped.
Still get the occasional crap from national about privatisation/rejected pay deal though.
Apparently can't stop it all.
