so lets say we now stand here with most of the facts...we the employees of royal mail have a decision to make,although we are all against the sell off,we are now left with a choice..embrace an I.P.O or contend with a private equity type takeover..having heard the arguments and potential horror stories would you take one over the other.i think the C.W.U will have this unenviable call to make..

It's a pointless choice to make since after an IPO we could easily end up in the hands of an equity company.
Once shares are floated you have no control over who buys them and in the case of previous privatisations very little stock is now held by small individual investors.

As FT says, it could basically be the same end result either way.
Plus, Michael Fallon has only said this to bully us into accepting privatisation as a fait accompli.

and there's a lot of QE money around in the system for big fish to buy it and eat it.
