Panicking!! Induction today and i have messed up!

Post by 2pints »

My induction is at 9am and re-reading the email i just realized i was supposed to send a p46 and expression of wish forms with my signed contract, but i only sent the contract back!! I have pinted out and filled in the p46 and expression of wish forms now but what does this mean? If i get there today will they turn me away?? Or will my pay just be delayed?

Also it says bring i.d and a copy of the email but would showing the email to them on my phone be ok as i did not print the email when i was at the printing shop yesterday!

I can't see that the paperwork will be a problem - they expect you to post it so would know it could be delayed  Just get it in the post asap. As for the email I don't know for certain, but when I did my induction they didn't ask for it - in my case, I said my name and it was on the list, so I was allowed in. One of the items in the induction is about security and a few of us pointed out that we'd got in without any ID being checked!

Yeah I forgot to send off my P46 when returning signed contract, You'll just get a few weeks on Emergency Tax until they receive it.

1st proper day out on delivery today and it rained all day non stop! But i enjoyed it anyway, was nice to be outside even if it was miserable weather.Alot of processes to get used to but none of it is rocket science and most of it is just common sense.Met my manager today he seems like a nice bloke, the morale in my office is very good, lots of friendly banter and plenty of support offered,i already have 3 peoples mobile numbers who say i can call whenever i need advice(which i have on 2 occasions already). Loving it so far.Best job i have had thats for sure.

Are you having proper training with the office workplace coach?
Have you been introduced to the office CWU rep?

You could do but ask your coach to introduce you to the local rep ASAP.
