16 year old (ME) Am I going to lose the postal service

Hi ,
I am a 16 year old male who goes to the post office every week ,I do a lot of ebaying (I have permission) and letter writing.

My post office is only small quite old fashioned but never the less that is why I love it ! I go in on a Monday , Tuesday and Thursday as that is when the loveliest , kindest people are serving. I have become quite friendly with them and they always give me the best service . Also we have a range of postmen and a postwoman and again they are super friendly ! I always rush to the door to accept my post off them and ask if their ok , just being polite. I even write the postman/postwomen seasonal cards (Christmas, Easter ect ) thanking them for delivering my post safely .

Anyway I was watching channel 4 Dispatches about postal services and they said that the royal mail might be SOLD OFF to a company like TNT ??? I don't understand what will happen ?? Will these lovely who give me the best postal service lose their jobs ??? Will I still post in our CLASSIC ERII red letter boxes ??? Also in the documentary they said we might only get 3 deliveries a week so how would special delivery work ???To be honest with you all I was awake until 3 thinking about everything what could happen and I don't want it to happen !!! I care so MUCH for are country and I am properly the most PROUDEST teenagers in the country to be British. I even write to the Royal Family and have got several personal response from a duchess/princess , would this stop if it all changed ???

How can I help to stop it these changes ??? As I don't want to lose this FANTASTIC service !!

No its not !!
If anything you should be happy a young person has interest in these things .I know a lot of people who work in the postal service and I use the postal service quite often so it will affect me if anything was to happen . This is why I have asked "what is happening? " as I don't really know what the situation is . If you think that a person of my age has no interest of what goes on in the country and the way it works , well I'm afraid you're wrong . I am not your stereotype teenager as I WANT to know what goes on and HOW I can help. As this a problem .
Also I thought that might workers might be pleased to know that I appreciated what they do and think to themselves "Isn't it nice to know that my work isn't dismissed and that it doesn't go unnoticed" But from the two above comments I appear to be wrong.

Most probably mass job losses , a worse service, 3 deliveries at most for rural ares , no care about the public or its staff only profits, basically the end of royal mailk as you know it

Thank you for helping me and the encouragement !!! I know what to do now ... I think.
I have signed the petition on Save our Royal Mail . I have shared the site with family, friends and colleagues to get them all on board . Tomorrow I will be going into my local Post Office to have a chat with the Post Master ( He's Great) to see if he knows and if there is anything I can do . Today I posted several letters to various MP's , Mayors and the Royal Family - I know what your thinking "what a waste of time and stamps" But that doesn't matter to me , it just shows that I'm trying to help whatever the response will be I have has also put myself down to be a volunteer http://saveourroyalmail.org/2013/04/campaigners-wanted/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

Thanks for those of you that have read what I have put and have taken it seriously . It did take me a while to find this site and even then I was a bit hasty whether of not to join but glad I did . Hopefully WE can save our Post Office

this person is a troll from a rival firm..... Which 16 yr old uses the term.... post master? There fishing for info guys.... hook line and sinker you have fallen for it

I can't do right from wrong !!
I live in a small village on which everybody knows each other . The post office is very small which has a post master called David , he has all his certificates behind the desk. There is also 2 female one which works 4 days a week ( shes the nice one) and the other (don't know her that well) 3 days. I only know that he's the postmaster due to my mum telling me and me asking why. I am a clever young person receiving As and Bs in my GCSEs, I ask questions and read books . Sorry if I'm not hanging around corners but I have been brought up well and be taught how to be polite , honest ,caring and to stand my ground !

I thought I'll try and make a point and show that young people do care and were not all bad .This is I have to say about to justify myself (not that I should have to) . Please leave positive comments and at the end of the day all I want to do is keep this British Service going !

Ps if I was a rival firm (which im not ) why would I be asking how I can help keep the Royal Mail ? And telling you what I have done and if there anything else what can be done ? Answer ... I only want to help as don't want to see my friend with no job , no money , having tones of debt and living in poverty.

this has GOT to be a joke right? I never read so much nonsense in my life. Theres nothing your or anyone else can do - you can sign petitions all day long this company will BE privatised by the end of the year.

What will happen? Only time can tell.
