Bundle it with your consignia tie & your 10 year sevice pin badge and you'll be on to a winner ( you could even throw in a roll of write off sickers for good measure )NWpostie wrote:Cut Off King wrote:I wish I had my RM phoney CS's ....At least they were worth £5000, not £1500
I still got mine, I kept them just in case, you never know, in any case they would look good on ebay 10 years in the future when we had a Postal service, a relic of merrie rose tinted Englande, I might actually list it under "Collectable Nostalgia".

£1,500 it was £2,000 a couple of weeks ago and by the time we actually do get it will be around £750 ... It's all propaganda

Can't believe RM is being accused of utilising propaganda.R@YAL F@IL wrote:£1,500 it was £2,000 a couple of weeks ago and by the time we actually do get it will be around £750 ... It's all propaganda
Though there is, and has been, a whirlwind of press releases, stories in courier(though I now return mine unopened
Can't be long before WTLL sessions will be overtaken with this misinformation either.
And £750? Can see 2 things wrong with this claim. First, it's optimistic, and second, you forgot to say minus tax, which would put it at about £525 at best.
We can also be certain that the board's share options will be considerably larger.

so 2000 pounds x 140,000 people equals 280,000,000 quid. so r.m is worth 2.8 billion pounds. is this amount how much r.m is worth as a company including all the property it has ?

The figure being bandied around is 3bn, so yes near enough, although a lot of people are suggesting that is undervaluing it. I don't think that matters to the ones pushing this through, they just want it privatised so they can collect their large bonuses/share option package/backhanders.blackadder wrote:so 2000 pounds x 140,000 people equals 280,000,000 quid. so r.m is worth 2.8 billion pounds. is this amount how much r.m is worth as a company including all the property it has ?
You can bet your life that whatever RM is sold off for, it will be worth significantly more once the new owners finish cutting every cost to the bone and the USO has gone. Then it will be yet more champagne all round for the ones getting rich off the back of it.
That's all this boils down to, money, and we'll see next to nothing of it. Even if we do get £1500 that's what they owe us for the colleague share scam, so we've still had f*ck all in reality.
PS: Is this the same Royal Mail that just 12 months ago at colleague share payout time was worth absolutely nothing? What have the CWU said about this blatant lie, apart from settle for a £100 extra Xmas bonus that we'll get for 1 year if we're lucky?

As the proposal is to give us shares rather than cash, income tax would not be payable. Instead, we would potentially come under Capital Gain Tax, although that will not necessarily be payable either.UnhappyGremlin wrote:And £750? Can see 2 things wrong with this claim. I have taken tax advice from Harry Redknapp and he says if I set up a bank account in my dog's name I won't pay any tax .......on anything .......ever.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
