Every Royal Mail staff member to get £1,500 shares windfall

What we will actually end up with are a large number of unemployed postal workers (who will then need to be supported through the benefits system, instead of contributing by being employed and paying tax) - and a postal service that will rapidly become very expensive ( as with water, gas and electricity). Are we really going to allow ourselves to be conned yet again, while a handful of people make personal fortunes from this "cunning plan" ?

cunning plan indeed..and by the time some of us inevitably end up on the rock n roll there wont be a benefit system left that doesnt require you to eat your grannie to survive.

£1,500 in shares for us values any IPO at £2.1bn. Is Royal Mail worth that? Will it raise that much money when it's floated on the stock market?

I still got mine, I kept them just in case, you never know, in any case they would look good on ebay 10 years in the future when we had a Postal service, a relic of merrie rose tinted Englande, I might actually list it under "Collectable Nostalgia".

Approximately 5 seconds after trading opens, especially if they go straight into the FTSE 100 (or 250) which seems likely if its an IPO.

Well you're right they can "Show you the money" but you won't be able to spend it - the Government are going to put a block of an unknown length of time, in which we have to hold on to the shares - no early cashing in I am afraid. We have posted that as a News item perhaps you missed it.

Well you're right they can "Show you the money" but you won't be able to spend it - the Government are going to put a block of an unknown length of time, in which we have to hold on to the shares - no early cashing in I am afraid. We have posted that as a News item perhaps you missed it.

And by the time we get to sell them, they'll definitely be worth more then than they will be to start with.
