Can't they be put onto a random round if they want the overtime?
I'm getting tired of being moved around most days because of this. It's alright if people are still in to help me tie down/tell me where boxes are etc, but most have run out the door by then.
Got lost then got bit by a dog to top it all off.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It would seem that management don't appear to give a f*** either if that happens, we've got something similar happening at our office as a "docket king" seems to like "doing all the hours God sends" at present, and also on his day off too he comes in and does about 3 cut offs when there are some spare posties available to do those duties. I heard about that this morning when he threw a tantrum because a driver wouldn't take some packets and told him to use his own van and to stop whining about it.

Some people I deliver too are still in their jim-jams most of the day.. and wander down to the shops in them too sometimes as some of them are on the Rock 'n Roll and moan that you got them out of bed.. and it's after 11am! I tell them, Well I've been up since sparrows fart and if you want your packet/signed for then make sure your up and about or I'll leave a card for you to tell you to collect it when you're wide awake and "dressed" - aka "come and get it 24hrs later"

Went to every house with a council letter.

Heavy weight rather than heavy volume. Plenty of RHS and Good Housekeeping magazines, and 50% of the places that had one also had the other. And what's with Red magazine - almost A3 size and about an inch thick!!!!

Wankie manager was having a go at me today because I said I was going to overrun because I had thrown in a LOT of excess junk mail. If our 'argument' had gone any further I would have told him to deliver it himself and cut off. Shame it didn't get that far. Booked it.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Got a call about half way round asking me if I wanted to deliver parcels, which I accepted. Got back to the office to find a bloke anxious to go home. Wasn't happy when I told him I was doing parcels and needed a van. Could have sorted the van and loaded it up for me but the DOM was on a flyer as he was finishing to a week off and hadn't told the guy I was driving. Talk about lack of communication.

Went to work. Pissed about a bit. Came home.
