Well, my postie and his relief postie are very good, and I have no complaints there, but that has not always been the case, as there was a time when I thought my postie of a few years back had sticky fingers.

I have no proof of course, and even though a lot of my stuff went missing it was only magazines, but those that came from the USA couldn't be purchased anywhere in this country.

Anyway, that's water under the bridge now. I just hope the barsteward has gone somewhere else and won't be signing for a walk anywhere near where I live.

Well, actually, they (the magazines) weren't anything naughty or strange, though having said that I was into a bit of mud wrestling and gun collecting, but that was just a passing phase.

my post man/woman
is brilliant,
in about that last 10-20 years i think there has only
been one problem
i had won some concert tickets and they came
2 days after the concert
however i suspect the newspaper was late in posting them
as the postmark was the day after
the concert

I've had lots of mail go missing over the years, and 2 parcels with very expensive equipment opened and the contents stolen, like all work paces there are 3 sorts of people, the very hard workers, the 9-5 gang, and the freeloaders who take the michael.

That's off track though, back on topic, my post lady is very nice and pleasant, and has even once or twice come back with packages later on in the day if she can't leave them next door.

I was talking to her about the situation, and she told me she's not in the union, I suppose you guys won't like her for that, even though I've seent hat she works extreme;y hard.

She's quite attractive too....

To me its not about NOT LIKING HER... I feel everyone has a right and a choice... In everything.... But this also stands for when the strikes are on as well.. IF SHE STILL WORKED THEN I CALL HER A SCAB IF THE STRIKES WERE ON AND SHE CROSSED THE PICKET LINE...

Otherwise its her point of view but i feel it would be better if she was in our union or anyother she was happy with...

IT shows she cares for the job and all of our jobs...

No we don't have a problem with that, we simply explain the advantages of being in the union, and suggest that an application form is filled in - but at no time is any pressure applied to join.....that would be wrong.

What I and many others have a problem with is union members working against legally organised Industrial Action ( strikes, work to rule, etc ) - and then collecting the benefits of any future settlement, same as any other employee. Thankfully, my office has almost been 100% solid through the 8 days of action - with some non-union members staying out as well. :Applause :Applause :Applause

My postie is a good laugh. If i'm on holiday no need to sort anything at the office he'll keep it back for me and also has a quick look at house for me. If i'm awake from my night duty i'll allways offer him a quick coffee as its near his break time and we often have a chat n chocy bickys as well.

If she's not a union member, it shoudn't matter whether she works or not during strikes.

I presume it's partly because she is originally from Slovakia, different culture and all, different values.

Yaba.,,,, FECK ALL TO DO IF she is in the union or not.... As i said.... SHE HAS HER OWN MORALS to live up to.... If she is here just to rape this country and give nothing back then i say she shouldnt be in the job or country.... If she takes her moneys home to Slovakia then i dont agree on it while Good people that work pay taxes and union subs to make this job somewhere the likes of anyone can work and then for her to scab is just totally wrong.... SHE HAD HER MORALS.... WE THE UNION GIVE HER THE CHANCE TO WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS...

If she takes the piss out off this country and the workers then ITS WRONG FULLSTOP!!
