I can handle the comments but it just strikes me that it is one big boys club, you and us and you don't like it when we the customer say something out of turn with your views.
This has been said on here many times before, close ranks then.
My initial post was also aimed at those who say they will not see the profits.
Allowing employees to buy shares will allow them to see profits and to me is morally wrong We are not so naive to swallow the protests of hard done by as portrayed.

Yes you do - its takes a bit of work but there are competitors out there who offer better prices and better tracking.

Letter prices IIRC remained the same this year so your comment about price rises I thought was on packets, which has been receiving a lot of press recently.

You don't like the price rises...neither do we.
Presumably you don't want privatisation as it will mean more price rises...neither do we.
You don't want us to get free shares....we don't want them.
You should be happy you've found a bunch of like minded people but instead you throw the toys out of the pram.

To most of us its morally wrong to privatise Royal Mail.

You're not saying something out of turn, all your getting honest if opposing views - no one is being too disrespectful. If you didn't want to hear our side why post on here and why be surprised that you are getting a lively debate - or perhaps you didn't want a debate - perhaps you just wanted you views of posties confirmed.

Let's not forgot the colleague shares fiasco, so why would anyone want any shares of any kind from Royal Mail after that?!

"Sorry, those shares are worthless so we're not paying you out any money" (shortly before reports of profits come in making it complete BS and p*ssing off the staff and reducing morale even more).

Many of those working and who used to work for RM have been fighting privatisation and changes to the postal system for years. Unfortunately, the public didn't exactly support some of the action because it meant a bit of inconvenience for them. It's going to be a helluva lot worse when privatised and I've not spoken to one postie who's for privatisation at all, but plenty of the public are because they see the service as failing them (which it is) but that's not the postie's fault so it's unfair to say that there's something in it for them if it is privatised. The only thing that's in it for them is more of the same, and worse and less security. Would you choose that for the sake of some shares that won't be worth the paper they're written on because RM have a way of making that happen?!
