help!!! surface mail...

Post by gekon17 »

I'm waiting for two items to arrive to Norway from the UK wich were both sent surface mail by mistake. First one was sent 26th of March, do you think there still is hope that it will arrive?

The second one was sent 10th of April as signed for surface mail, so I got a tracking number. But is the tracking number for any good, as it can't be used to track and trace the package online? What can the tracking number acctually be used for?

How long is it worth waiting?

Have you tried the tracking number anywhere? Either at Royal Mail website or at Norwegian Post Office...

When I try the tracking number on royal mai page it says:

Please come back later

Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later. Information on your item is not yet available online.

On the Norwegian post office page the number is not available.

That message is a bit worrying as it seems to relate to a Recorded Signed For item going to the UK. That's a different service to International Signed For which should have been used to send an item to Norway (by airmail or by surface).

Normally an International Signed For tracking number starts with the letter R - does your tracking number start with an R or does it start with something else?

My tracking number is: AH782737448GB

So that means he has fooled me then? How can I know for sure?

This is a UK Recorded tracking number. Not international

Who gave you this?

Assuming this is eBay, if I were you I'd be raising a dispute now. Two from UK to NO by surface mail (in Europe the prices are so close between air and surface there really is little point) and a dodgy tracking number all seem a bit suspect to me.

Up to you but good luck!

So the best thing I can do then is opening a PP case against him? Sorry for asking so much, I'm new to this stuff.

Thank you very much for your help so far.

That's exactly what I'd be doing right now.

Thank you for your help so far!

I was wondering, how does a PP case work? As I said before I am totally new to this....

For sure I will try to get in touch with the seller first and ask him what is going on, if he by a mistake gave me wrong tracking number etc. Also ask him to redund before I sart a PP case to just to be fair with him.

But if he don't answer or won't refund, how dose a PP case work?

Thank you all very much for your help.

Search on eBay/PayPal. All the information should be there. Disputing is not a Royal Mail matter...
