Problem with an Airmail from UK to Germany

Post by Padobranac »

Hello Guys,

i am writing from Germany, so pls if i make a mistake, sorry;D!
A good friend of mine send me on the 2.04.2013 via Airmail a Paintball Marker.
I need the Marker until 14.04.2013 because of a Tournament here in Germany.
I check every day on the http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the item details.
He choose Airmail because of the information on the website:

" Missing a big day? Friends and family celebrating without you? Sending something by Airmail is is the next best thing to being there. Our service is fast - and comes with compensation and free returns. Our delivery aims are:
-Western Europe within three working days"

but today stand the same as on the first day...

Date Time Status Track point
02/04/13 18:43 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC AIRSURE GREENFORD MAIL CENTRE
02/04/13 17:13 COLLECTED GREENFORD MAIL CENTRE
02/04/13 09:28 ACCEPTED AT POL 1293 High Road N20 9HX

About the Marker. It´s not a weapon it´s only a Paintball Marker. Big Stores like http://www.justpaintball.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sell the Markers to Germany and Europe too. This can´t be a Problem. Because a lot of friends bought Markers from Justpaintball and they get them in a view days from UK.
I know today is only the 5.04.2013 and i have time until the 14.04.2013. But to be honest i read a lot in the Internet and here in the Forum.
I don´t know why it stocks on the "TOHWDC AIRSURE"?!
The Royalmail tell on the Internetsite that they are fast with the Airmail and that they only need "3 days to Western Europe".
I live i Frankfurt am Main/Germany. If they send it to Germany it would be surely arrived here in Frankfurt. Here is the biggest Airport in Europe. This is the most likely Solution.
I call yesterday the German DHL International Callcenter and let them check my Royal Mail Tracking Number, but they didn´t find anything.
Today the friend of mine call the Royalmail Callcenter, they told him, that the Package is still on the Airport and in the UK. He tell him, that if nothing happens until the 30.04.2012 they couldn´t do anything :Applause  :arrrghhh :chuckle . After the 30.04.2012 i get the insurance money, but i don´t want the insurance...i need the marker.

My questions are:
1. How often happens that the Package stocks like this?! I read a lot and a lot of people have problems... why do the Royalmail make then PR on their site with "3 working days to western europe"?!
2. How long will it take, that the Package is sent to Germany?!
3. What causes this delay?
4. How does that come that not even the call agent gets the Information what's going on the "TOHWDC AIRSURE GREENFORD MAIL CENTRE"?! To be honest the rate is three times more expensive with royalmail from UK to Germany, than with DHL from Germany to UK.
5. Is there any way to contact someone there on "TOHWDC AIRSURE GREENFORD MAIL CENTRE" if nothing happens next week?
6. How big is the chance that it arrives until the 13.04.2013 (because the 14.04.2013 is a sunday)
7. Is the Saturday for Royalmail a working day?

Without the Marker i can forgott the Tournament. :cry

I hope that anyone can give me a answer or help me. To be honest after reading a lot, i have a bad presentiment.

Thanks guys!

Cheers Aleks

if its a paintball marker, you may find its not allowed to be sent by post, Royal mail recently updated their list of prohibited items and if it has a canister bigger than 350ml or has more than 2 canisters then it is not allowed to be sent by royal mail and may be stop and probably destroyed before its sent abroad

No there is no Canister eg.
I am sure there is no problem because of that is a paintball marker, because a lot Stores sell them every day and send them to Europe without problems.
The People who have the same problems, don´t send Markers;D! They send everything.
I read the List of Prohibited Items, but the Marker is allright. I am sure.

Thanks for answer;D!

yes i know the marker would be sent ok, just as long as there was no canister in there, as if there is it more than likely wont go, its the cannister that will cause problems not the marker

To be honest, it's probably left HWDC without a scan. Unfortunately, there's not much else we can suggest on here other than patience at this moment in time

How big is the chance, that the Package is left without a scan?
In that case...do you know who takes the package here in Germany? DHL? GLS? or? I would be happy if this is happen, but to be honest i don´t believe it.
A lot of Guys here in the Forum has same problems. I saw that couple of them get after 7-8days a changing in the tracking details. I can´t understand why it takes so long :arrrghhh ...
But perhaps someone has an other idea or infortmation.

Thank you a lot guys.

It's quite likely there being no scan given the volume of mail and the long bank holiday weekend we've just had. Quicker to just send the items on rather than scan everything which causes further delays. Obviously I can't tell you for 100% definite that that's what has happened, but it's a possibility.

I believe GLS are the agent for Royal Mail in Germany, but I'm willing to admit I'm wrong if someone has another suggestion...

Happens more often than you think. Keep checking GLS (link I provided yesterday above) over next few days.

Although I agree lack of tracking is frustrating given Airsure is marketed as an end-to-end tracked service though...

Aloha Guys,

i check everything today, again and again. Nothing changed :thumbdown .
The friend of mine, call the Royal Mail Callcenter, the Call Agent told him, that the Package will be shipped with the Airplaine perhaps today or tomorrow if not then only on Saturday?!
Then i have to :pray that they put it tomorrow on the airplaine, because today nothing changed. If nothing changes by tomorrow I can´t forget to get the marker until Sunday :cry :thumbdown ...
On the Question why they said on the Internetsite that they need only 3 working days, the call Agent don´t answer :Applause . I know that the guy is not guilty for that, but that´s not professional from Royal Mail.
The Royal Mail is three times as expensive as dhl from germany to uk. That´s the reason why i can´t understand.
Perhaps someone have more experience or some information. To be honest i can´t understand that the Package is still waiting for shipping from UK to Germany :arrrghhh !

Thanks for your answers guys.

Cheers.
