Game Store Order Not Yet Arrived?

Hello.

I recently purchased a game online from the Game store. I selected free UK delivery (which I assume is Royal Mail 1st/2nd Class as I have bought from them online before) it was purchased and despatched the same day before 1pm on the 27/3/13 and so far I haven't had any luck. Is it possible that it may have been caught in the Easter post rush or something?

Just because a supplier says despatched the same day does not necessarily mean it entered our postal system that day,it may still be moving through their own internal distribution network.
Even if best case scenario it entered the system 28th March.
Friday 29th March was a bank holiday...no collections/no deliveries.
Mon 1st April was a bank holiday...no collections/no deliveries.
Even 1st Class it's not really overdue yet.
Don't panic.

I didn't realise that, I thought the game would have most likely been despatched the same day as Game do actually specify this on their website.
Something I have always wondered, does the post start moving again at midnight?

Something I have always wondered, does the post start moving again at midnight?

I think the mailcentres actually start seriously moving again around 10 pm on the bank holiday,but I work in a delivery office so I'm not sure.
I do know they get longer breaks than us.
Just saying.

Game free delivery *USED* to be 1st class Royal Mail.

Now it is delivered as cheaper DSA mail - i.e. it is sent to another mail company who then do a small bit of sorting of it before passing it to us to do final sorting and actually deliver it so it will take longer.

There are the occasional bits from Game that still go out 1st class but these are generally only for new releases to make sure they do actually arrive on time.

As long as you're not planning on going down there.

Offices have different arrival patterns.
Usually on a Monday or Tuesday(bank holiday) it's all in before 0600.
On a normal week tuesday-saturday our feeds are around 0500,0600 and 0700 but like I said offices have different times.

at my office the lorries start turning up from 10.30pm through to 7.30am. Not all offices are the same, a lot don't have night sorters.

maybe he didnt want to use half a gallon of petrol and pay extortionate parking charges and get stuck in traffic
