Next funding wave for Secured Mail

Warrington-based postal operator Secured Mail has secured another round of funding from its private equity backer Next Wave Partners.

The private equity house invested in Secured Mail in 2011 and this latest round of undisclosed funding will support the expansion of its home shopping packet service, including investment into machinery and new jobs at its sorting office in Northamptonshire.

The backing comes two months after the company announced a tie-up with delivery company City Link.

Secured Mail has also expanded its national sales team and the Next Wave investment will support the business growth being generated by these new appointments.

Turnover in 2013 is expected to grow to £80m, up from £48m two years ago when Next Wave invested.
