dingo wrote:So dan you take the word of faceless senior manager from Scotland instead of the Dave Ward and Billy Hayes who have met with Vince Cable and Michael Fallon and have met with Moya on numerous occasions and yes she does want to privitiase Royal Mail but she does not want to break up the industry as that makes no sense.
Nobody's word is worth anything, not a senior manager,Moya,Vince Cable,Michael Fallon,Billy or Dave because nobody knows what's going to happen if/when/during or after privatisation.
Moya,Vince Cable and Michael Fallon are not reliable sources because they all have different agendas to the CWU.
That should be obvious.

Nobody knows what shape privatisation might take because that will depend on what options are on the table at the time,an IPO or pension fund investment might be the preferred option but if none of that is possible or available they will take the money from the devil himself if need be,selling off chunks of the business might not make long term sense but do you seriously believe that any of those involved are in it for the long haul?

BT sold off and outsourced profitable parts of it's business after privatisation which on paper appeared to make no sense but they did it mostly so that they could down-dial the terms and conditions of their staff and castrate the union and to a certain extent it worked.

I personally think Royal Mail's options are narrowing and that worries me because desperation is a dangerous thing when you need cash.

no offence dingo
but did mr hayes and ward not fall for the deal of the century :no no
did rm tell them the whole truth re 2010 agreement
did they even stick to the terms of the agreement
personally i dont want to be the one who says told you so
1- rm will get rid of all mail centres work out the economics ,dsa has sorted that
2- distrabution will go to other companies , pointless to have private mail centres and rm drivers, probably tender this out
3 -no ft position has ever been properly replaced in our do in the last 10+ years, the senior pt is still senior pt,their hrs may have increased slightly due to the fact they dont get 1-4 .but still remain pt.
the whole future policy of rm is to down dial everything private or not .
this will enable all profiteering from other companies to take place which in turn profits shareholders and executives
this keeps the gravy train for the directors ,executives and gvments running.
why would moya greene tell uncle billy and his roadie dave anything it is not in her interests
why should gvmt officialls tell them the true agendas its not as if they have never lied before.
its all about money for top boys always has been.
global wage dumping
anyone can check out whats going on all over the world not just us
whos going to stop it , should be unions and common workforces together fighting to keep t&cs , wages , jobs ,actually a way of life to preserve .
are we and others up for it ,i dont think so :wave :wave
everyone is corruptable ffs as soon as you take up cwu position rm mgmt try to get you onside with preferential treatment to drive their agendas.
make no mistake these will happen IF WE LET THEM
