Missorts

Post by GT750rider »

I shan't name the Mail Centre I work in,but it is in the south of England.
We used to have a specific duty that would set up Yorks and sort the missorts ready for the arrival of the drivers from the delivery offices we serve. They would come over around 8am.This worked well and was very successful.
Our last MCM decided these missorts were not our creation / problem ,and cut out the duty, leaving the drivers to sort the missorts themselves.Quite how he thinks they aren't the Mail Centre's creation is beyond me! The result is barely any missorts get done, and are carried over for the following day.
That's bad enough (in my eyes,at least ),but on Saturdays missorts brought back from delivery offices by our distribution drivers are not touched till the following Tuesday, due to there being so few staff at the weekend / Monday.
Does this happen at other Mail Centres ? I would be interested to know.

missorts should be cleared in every mc everyday leaving them from sat till tues is an absolute joke maybe moya would like to know whats happening in your mc after all it,s not the customers fault their mail is being missorted. also more than likely the missorts are mixed with redirections which is one of rm,s biggest customer complaints. I do the missort,s in mc so i know what you mean and our,s have to be cleared everyday.
