Mail sorter job application

Hi guys

I recently completed an application for a mail sorter position. I was then asked to complete the tests.
Since doing that i haven't heard anything.
Does anyone know if you get a call or email?
Does the status change if you are unsuccessful?

I would call them however there isn't a number for the recruitment team.

I am afraid its a long drawn out process - looking at peoples experiences posted on here it can take 4 - 6 weeks sometimes.

However, yes they do change your status to unsuccessful (or something similar) on the web page.

I believe most contact is by email and the website.

I was a bit concerned they may have tried to contact me by phone and because i lost my phone that would be an issue.
Cant inform anyone of my new number either.

Also does anyone who works for royal mail know if a family member currently working for royal mail can put in a recommendation?

I joined in a delivery post with driving last year. I did the online application in July and had an interview in the first week of August, and my first day was in mid-September. At no point did I receive any phone calls, everything I got was by email, so I don't think you have anything to worry about in that respect. I can't remember what details were held, but you may be able to log in online and change your contact details, just in case they need a phone number.

For Christmas jobs, there's usually a week or two for RM staff to recommend friends/family before the jobs get opened to the public. At least one person I know recommended a relative who still didn't get in though (due to RM disorgansiation rather than any problem with the relative in question). The Christmas jobs will start to be advertised around September
