Need advice on a possible health and saftey issue.

I'm due back at work tomorrow. I've recently injured myself outside of the workplace. The injury is causing me much discomfort when walking.
I've spoke to my manager about the issue. He reckons i'll be fine if i use a high capacity trolley. My view is that i think that could be possible, but on the basis that i only complete half a duty for the day.

Should my manager accommodate this for me?

As we have no union rep in our office. I sometimes struggle to contact somebody who can help resolve situations like these.

Get him to. Refer you to atos for a workplace assessment

Thanks, but i dn't want to take any more sick leave. If i were referred to them surely i would have to take time off. If i offer to work half a day under injury is that not enough to meet the criteria of not having to take the day as sick leave?

If you have been off sick because of this injury, you should be referred to ATOS.
Your DOM would be an idiot to agree some sort of a rehab agreement without any medical back-up.

if you get referred to atos you do not need to take time off. The will do a capabilty assesment in your office and tell your manager what you can do. Its put in writing so your manager cant deviate from this. no need for time of work

Just a thought, have you spoken to your doctor about your return to work and possible on going heath issues? I am sure your dom would want to know what your GPs opinion is, after all he may just be making things worse for you if you undertake work that is detrimental to your heath particularly if he is aware of your condition.
