Weirdly quiet all week. My round normally gets loads of packets but hardly any for days now. Can't help feeling I'm going to pay for it soon.

Not a bad day. Only 2 sequenced boxes and managed to get home before the late afternoon rain started.

Another Tuesday without 30mins (well any) work time learning, another day going considerably over despite "30mins head start" according to the day's guidelines, happy to prove a point that the walk is too big doing things properly and getting o/t to make my point with.

Put out an oversize packet that had "leave in porch if no answer" written by the sender, great to see someone had already doorstepped as instructed by the packet by the time I delivered the mail , but not as we should do (if we can open the porch door, what stops a thief from openng the same door and pinching the packet?). Unbelieveable! :arrrghhh

Mail wise quite good. Sleet and bitterly cold wind most of the day. Day off tomorrow.

Are we supposed to check the outer door is locked before pushing mail through the letterbox? If so, its another bit of training/instruction I have never received. If the outer door is obviously open, then mail gets posted through the inner door's letterbox, if no such thing exists the mail gets endorsed as such and back to the depot it goes.

However, I have had official instructions/training about attendence packets, you do not leave them anywhere where someone can come along after you have gone and pinch the packet if you get no answer from the address written on the item (unless of course you officially leave something with a nieghbour).

Yesterday I also had a packet for someone with a note on their exterior postbox along the lines of "please put large parcels in the box opposite." Said box was an open top material box, packet was 939ed and back to the depot, I really hope they kick up a real stink at the depot with cage staff and managers like others have done when I have followed procedure. I will not "do favours for recipients" that involve risking comeback on me, I might reconsider this approach at such times as someone gives me a legally binding agreement that says they will pay me an OPG wage until such times as I get an equivalent paid job, having been sacked from RM.
