After 3 month agency workers get the same as us.
Is this MC related because they 'might' get a slightly higher hourly rate because of shift allowances or rather lack of.
I do know the hourly rate for casuals differ for different attendance times and weekend work.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I would say why do the postie get paid less. Use the highest figure as the minum wage to be paid. Madness to fight for a rate to be reduced. :arrrghhh

Yeah it is not a case of them being overpaid, we are being underpaid. The vast majority of employers pay double time on sundays, whenever I have done agency work it has been 1.5x on saturday and 2x on sunday :arrrghhh Also why are night OT rates the same as daytime?

I guess it shows how much we are valued when they would prefer to pay a temp more rather than full time postie,i wonder what overtime rates managers get i bet it is a lot more than £11.50 on a sunday

It's simply a case of supply and demand with many agency workers, in London a Manager told me that as a result of a recent revision he needs to bring in Agency staff on more than a OPG P/H Mon-Sat and that's what the staff themselves are receiving, the agency takes a much larger sum.

Not sure what a manager's Sunday rate is now, I am only sure it's nothing like it used to be as the CMA negotiated away their highly lucrative Sunday rates some years back. It's probably a little higher than an OPG but not by that much.
