You need to read what has been written above rather than what you think has been written. Rather sad that you should worry enough about what someone you don't even know thinks about your favourite comic to reply over Christmas, though.

Having worked in deliveries for three years I agree with the sentiment of much of what has been said. However I think its important to be balanced and I would question the accuracy of some of the details quoted; e.g.

'Our canteen's long gone and if you even grab a coffee they'll stop you 20 minutes for it even if you drink it on the go.'

That's never been the case at any of the four delivery offices I've worked in and I'd be very surprised if that were the expreience of may other RM staff.

given that our canteen is upstairs and we can only drink off the floor, and that our working canteen is closed if we leave the floor to go upstairs to get a drink it is assumed you are on a break

grap a cuppa, go upstairs, drink in it peace

if you really want to get up their noses wait until they shout you back for more sorting

The article is a fairly accurate write up on what is going on, when I started it was great we had nights shift sorting mail, it was ready in the morning and we carried ti off and got it done, it was all achievable and everybody was happy, now its so different if my younger self were to fast forward 15 years in the future and see this, he will look on the past especially before 1994 as the golden age and cherish every minute of it. we didn't realise it then, now its absolutely horrendous, the pressure and the intimidation, unfortunately not everybody was able to stand up to it, I had to deal with it every day and I am the sort of person who takes no s**t off anybody, I regularly had to argue with the Lino over my mail volume and I kept challenging them to come out with me on delivery, not surprisingly it wasn't taken up, I take my full meal break without fail, very often I am a lone voice in this, even the Union feels like they are banging their head against a brick wall with the runners making things worse.

All in all a very accurate and frightening article, the future is not bright and it will be TNT orange !
