Everyone gone by 3.30pm, except little ol' me..Boo-Hoo, LOL!
And, someone called for their packets at 5.01pm...WHY?

I got done by 11am, only 1 tray of mech and half a bag of packets, most of which fit through the letterbox. Magazines will start coming through now and I bet a lot of parcels will arrive tomorrow / Saturday.

same here, put on another delivery its a P&L. First one I have been on. I get the van and do all the parcels. I also delivery half of the mail which is basicly an old delivery round. The other person uses his car and gets home early. :dcfo :ncfo :vcfocyberheater wrote:Catalogues, catalogues, catalogues and more catalogues...

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
We've had heavy catalogues in our office on the 23rd Dec and also again today.. they weigh at least 2kgs each - K & Co if I recall correctly.
They make bloody good doorstops though, so glad I only had about 6 on my delivery as one postie had 15! You really don't need all that added weight over Christmas Pressure, so why do they let them through, I thought they (catalogues) were meant to be held back at this time of the year?

Holiday Cats and club books. Just over a packet bag but nearly all small packets which went through the boxes. Spare vans still so i took one to save coming back and forth. Rained steady for the fist half before dropping to drizzle. Finished by 12.30 so not all bad.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Always find it "interesting" on here when you see the phrase "finished at xxxx hrs" ...
A meaningless comment to most isn't it ???
Would make a damn sight more sense if posters actually posted both start and finish times ... and when I say start I mean "outdoor" start ... then we would actually know who's on the make and who's actually working their time ...
Just a thought - and for starters ... started "indoors" at 0648hrs (!) - out at 0955hrs - finished at 1425hrs ... and yes the catalogues made it heavy ...

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Typical post Xmas day - heavy but not much traffic.
Did upset a customer though, had a packet knocked and when the door opened said "Too wide to go through", then looked up. He would have had to turn sideways to go through the door.

Totally right, mug for doing that duty, and went over my time and I claimed overtime. BUT I did not refuse to do it, that upset a few people, along with claiming overtime. Highlight the problem and sit back with a mug of tea I say.bigcol wrote:newtimes wrote:same here, put on another delivery its a P&L. First one I have been on. I get the van and do all the parcels.
