Good for you..
Although this is primarily a "how was your day" thread that is more work related...
 Sorry,my bad.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The last weeks been a right mare, we've had no sequenced mail (spdo) just a few walksort and the rest needs splitting.

Been booking a hour before our dutys start and finishing around 5 , no management have contacted us to offer sunday overtime to try and shift the backlog, and today we've got flooding.

Think on monday were only working our hours so if the post is as heavy as it has been we'll just be doing packets/trackers and specials.

Another day, another letter in my tray carrying a Scouts stamp. Where's Revenue Protection when you want them?

Not your office as well

Every frigging year we get them stuffed into pillar boxes by the dozen. The kids are to lazy to deliver them and the only ones that do get delivered are the ones which the mums and dads deliver in thier cars. Ive seen it so many times and we have complained yearly to the Dom who just says "its christmas deliver them".

Only one year after a piller box was half full with Scout mail and for once our dom agree to charge the lot. I believe there were a fair few un happy people turning up at the counter to pay the surcharge
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Classic.. Dont reckon the Counters could bear the numbers this year if that were to happen here!!.

Regular opening hours at the Counter this year!!; 365 articles had a 'card left' Wednesday.. one for each day-of-the year..but all 'needed' before the 25th..!!

CHAOS as Counter is now, after October relocation to 'the nearest Big Town', behind the counter at our 'village' main Post Office
( Village asin 'Oh, we live in the Upper Avenues of ********* village.. my husband commutes into the City' ) ...

If we'd caused a stir like this NEWS article posted by TrueBlueTerrier
'Crowds show support for posties as Royal Mail threaten to close Whitstable delivery office'
http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/Crowds-supp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... story.html
maybe this wouldn't have happened?

..so that's 5 counters taking in packets, parcels, answering damnfool questions etc and 1 giving-out!! You couldn't make it up!!

Saturday, another heavy one. In today doing parcel deliveries. Rammed. Cleared 1 york. Went back and loaded up another for the same area but couldn't clear that. On top of that there was a manager doing the same area.

Nice easy day for me, couple of pre 9am's and a run out to a town in another part of the county with a Special. Stayed on to make sure everyone arrived back ok and my mate gave me a bottle of wine as he had too many from his customers. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow :cool
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

No, 2 walks had them, it happens every year, TNT postmark too, just to make it even more enjoyable to deliver. :mad
