Did a couple of cash bags prior to my duty, struggled through torrential rain for hours with 4 times my normal amount of parcels. Finished over two hours past my time when adjusted for doing cash bags.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
OK, I was missing from RMC yesterday because we had a complete nightmare in the office, most people where arriving back between 16.30 and 17.00 (I personally took out 3 yorks and just squeezed it into the van) and today was not much better. Packets are through the roof at the minute, mail isn't too bad but.......6 packet bags, 1 york of bulks and 1 of letters, specials and tracked is really starting to get to me............in again tomorrow to try to clear the packet mountain that got left behind today, as well as the ones that are expected in in the morning.
Oh, one more thing..........f**king rain and wind, I swear it would have been dryer to walk around naked with no shoes on...............but that effing restaining order says I can't do it anymore

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Mail slightly less than than the recent norm, packets still heavy. Weather awful again, though It did stop for 10mins around 1pm. The worst part was being put out with the office idiot. He arrived late, hung over; he can't sort, can't bag everything up without strict supervision, doorsteps everything or forgets it. His PDA failed through his idiocy so had to spend a long time sorting that out before we left the office. Had to do all his specials as well as my own because he cannot be trusted, why he still has a job I do not know (well I do know but that is a whole other story). Christmas eve has to better?
And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed-if all records told the same tale-then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

Good for you..
Although this is primarily a "how was your day" thread that is more work related this is still not a good day for me, hence my response, even if it ain't work related.
I ordered an item from Amazon yesterday too, also I am an Amazon Prime customer as well.
I paid for an "express delivery" to ensure a guaranteed delivery by 1pm today - hoping that it would be via Royal Mail.
How wrong was I!
Doesn't seem to count for much as City Link failed to deliver it today at all.
Just sent a complaint in to them about it and also was online talking to Amazon.. well complaining really. Got my postage refunded and also got Amazon to get Shitty Link to deliver this item by 11am on Monday. They are meant to be in contact with them so if this doesn't arrive on Monday.. that'll be a Christmas present that will be late. Had a real dig at them over their choice of courier too.. Told the guy online to take a look at their own forums about deliveries and who people are complaining about.
How the hell it wasn't delivered today is beyond me.. I am not that far from the depot in Guildford either.
Also got Amazon to give me a full refund on another item that was meant to be with me on the 19th Dec.. according to the "seller" the delivery is now set for 3rd Jan 2013! Nice way to upset a kid who was meant to have a Christmas gift on the 25th.. Relatives send me stuff from the USA and I get it in 3 days! Amazon somehow manage to get things sent in 3-4 weeks from the USA!

Amazon are arses, they keep using crappy couriers and people will stop using them altogether.
