Re: saturday 15th work load

Post by IloveMYredTROLLEY! »

Yesterday was the heaviest workload I have ever dealt with, significantly more packets to deal with than the worst day last year and the total number of letter items was through the roof (shame Royal Mail stupidly decided to offer cheap stamps at the time of year they have a captive Xmas card market). And that was excluding the yorks of IPS manual that were not touched, because managers knew full well that if they asked a reasonable request to do more IPS to get everything through, all they would effectively do is move the letters into walk slots with nobody wanting/able to do the cut-offs.

Really busy sat at my office. Had 5 mech trays plus another couple from ips. Also 3 packet bags full which has been the norm all week. On top of this we had d2d's as well
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

It was a bit lighter than last saturday which was our heaviest day so far. But mail arrived late and we had quite a few sick so it ended up being horrendous despite there being less mail. All the packet jobs were lapsed to cover the walks and people in on OT today to do the packets from yesterday.

Late finish yesterday. A couple sharing a van were still out when I got back. Long cold and tiring day.

Fairly quiet Saturday for me. Last Tuesday was also one of the lightest Tuesday's of the year, as someone else mentioned.
