Maybe I should just use the same post as I have for the past week.............my office seems to be getting all the packets because according to the management, there aren't as many packets this year

Horrible wet day. Loads of cards, packets manageable - mainly recorded and 5 specials. Felt like a real slog to get round, after my first two loops I was completely knackered. First time I've felt like giving in and packing it up for ages

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
WET!!!!!
The first time that I have taken 5 hours. It was a heavy day with packets, but the rain was the killer. Thankfully I wore the waterproof trousers but it did mean I had to faff around getting 739s and the signature sheet out - and that was a soggy mess by the time I got back. My feet were soaked and I am halfway through the soles of the CAT trainers after about 6 weeks. This would have been my last day on my initial 3 month contract (what a way to go) but as it is I have a three day weekend in which to dry out before the madness that will no doubt happen next week.

awful I don't think we should be working in heavy rainy day especially in winter. What do you think ? I think we should just deliver parcels and special delivery on very heavy rainy day and leave letters and cards behind.

Very heavy day, I have only been with RM for a few years and only at one location, we leave the last feed till the next day apart from local SD, Track and parcels, is that a typical practice for the Christmas period. Thats why most deliveries are out by 7.30am.

Busiest day yet this year. 7 trays of mail, 3 packet bags and about 40 parcels. Nightmare.

Lots of grumpiness at my office (not just me!). Very very wet and cold, rained on for three hours. Need decent gloves as the ones RM supply are no good in freezing rain, my fingers were numb. And the waterproof jacket (orange one) wasn't very waterproof which led to wet arms. Volume wise not as heavy as last two days but still a lot to deliver.

Is this the senario whereby managers call it operational needs, but if you willfully delay the mail you can be sacked ?newtimes wrote:Very heavy day, I have only been with RM for a few years and only at one location, we leave the last feed till the next day apart from local SD, Track and parcels, is that a typical practice for the Christmas period.
