What you should have done is take them all and cut off/claim OT, the D2Ds are due out by Saturday and they should be.Speedmeister wrote:Cold & wet. I had 6 lots of d2d which were only prepped into my frame yesterday after I'd gone out. Today I only took the d2d I had mail for & left the rest in.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Had an alright Saturday. Did a bit of a delivery, didn't take any packets. Did a couple of hours in the callers office, followed by a couple more on OT, which I enjoyed even if it was busy and some people are confrontational (I'm confrontational too so it doesn't bother me). It's astounding how some of these 739s are filled in, though. If it isn't the postie who deals in as little information as possible (address only), it's the postie who never quite mastered the art of writing. You might as well be looking at hieroglyphs! Might be funny but you feel like a bit of a fool when you're asking somebody what surname is supposed to be on their card!
Easy OT, anyway.

If the d2ds had been prepped earlier in the week I would have delivered them all - I'm on a 20 hour contract - 4 hours over 5 days. This was a rural duty that included a collection - I had to cut off anyway so I could got back to the DO in time for the mail I had collected could be collected from the DO. How daft is that putting someone on a 5 hour + duty when they're only meant to do 4 hours?

Last couple of days have been heavy on the packets. Mail not too bad. Having to card lopads of packets now because of the later starts and not catching people. Not the best situation for this time of year.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Today was my first day after my induction yesterday and ive had a great time. I was straight onto mail sort and sorting my frame in the morning. Blown away at the speed folks sort the packets. 2 D2D's added to the fun of bundling the routes. I was driving for the day and got to cover the entire route and had plenty of experience with the PDA through a mix of business and residential addresses. This took up much of the afternoon with the rest being filled with sorting out the packets that couldnt be delivered and a quick 2nd class sort. Roll on tomorrow then I'm on my own from Thursday.
I must add size M fleece = tiny but M jacket is a good fit. Trousers are a pain too! Not much room in them and no room in the pockets and the size up is too loose.. ah the perils of looking smart or having baggy but comfy trousers.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
I wonder how many depots discussed "Black Friday" plus "Cyber Monday" (started over in the States, now catching on over here) online sales and how they would send packet levels through the roof this week, during their weekly resource meetings?

Monstrous heavy bags with tons of packets. A bad day.
