I do ok with tips at Christmas. No where near what some are saying, but more then nought. My rest day cover gets 20% as I like to keep him sweet, I even get him to claim my d2d's every 2nd or 3rd week although I do most of them over 2 days and he takes where he's going on his day. Been doing this for a while now and when I come in after my rest day or holiday there's no pile of undelivered mail or dead letters. The only problem I've got regarding tips is that it's usually the old dears that give me them, and 3 of them have passed away already this year. Oh and when someone moves home onto another walk in your area they're always good tippers and their new postie is a bit of a t****r, but he's still going to get a tip, at least the first year, it's never the other way round is it?
