Tell me about it I'm one of them! Waiting on crb check (said will be 2-3 weeks) then waiting on induction date. My reckoning I won't start till beginning of dec/maybe end of nov. it's gonna be scary!

I'm doing 23.5 hours a week over 5 days.
Well if they take you on thats great. One piece of advice, It's is very busy this time of year and will get even worse in the run up to xmas. Whatever you do, DON'T panic. Just do the job as you were trained and always ask someone if you are not sure. It takes time to get experience and experience only comes with doing the job. I should know, almost 24 years and counting. Good luck.

Thanks heapsy. My reasoning now is if I survive Xmas as my introduction to Royal Mail I should stick it! On a 4 month contract to start off with but been told it should be renewed.

I had fun the other day. A customer where I left a 739 the day before came out to tell me that he had been in at the time, but that he is partially deaf. He then gave me a demonstration of how his doorbell works - apparently if you press the button briefly it gives a brief ring, and if you press it longer it gives a longer ring. And it is also possible to make a noise by banging the letterbox flap. Duly educated I bumbled off on my way :Very Happy

A pretty modest day mail-wise although packets were absurdly bad.

Tomorrow shall undoubtedly be the perfect storm - two part-timers together on a duty, lots of mail, lots of packets.

Lots brought back, too.

Really heavy day with heavy christmas mags and packets upon packets.

Started out in the morning sunshine which was nice and around 11 deg c. A fresh wind picked up and the temp dropped this was followed by a shower of freezing cold rain :d'oh! Did not really get warm again after that. Temp had dropped to 6.4 deg on the drive home.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
