Agreed. It is stupid we can't go away on Saturday or do anything on Saturday because of potty junk mail.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Went to the physio yesterday. Had another full check-up of my k-nee. Agreed with doctor's diagnosis - patellofemoral pain syndrome. Said it's nothing too bad and okay-ed me for returning to work once the 'fitness for work' note becomes irrelevant.
However, I've got to do some stretching, strengthening exercises. I'm going to a local class for six to eight weeks - it's some kind of 'knee workshop for young people', which features yoga/pilates like exercises that specifically focus on such issues as mine, and alleviating them through increased mobility. I've heard good things so hopefully that'll be cool.
Tbh, I'm thinking I need to be more active rather than less to help sort this thing out. I know it's kind of homosexual but I've always fancied trying out ball-room dancing. Once I've got back into the swing of things, I'm thinking of getting into another kind of swing of things, too. It's time to make or break my body.
Physio did say that my problem isn't wear and tear and hence, nothing is strictly off-limits. It may be that the pain has to be 'managed', it may be that if it worsens, it will be necessary to go for scans/x-rays, and look toward key-hole surgery if there is anything wrong. He did say though that the problem at the minute is muscular and any issue that he hasn't detected is not with the patella, or any of the other fixed bone/cartilage areas, hence any problem that he has been unable to detect (and physio is not the be-all and end-all) shouldn't be anything major.
Cue full scale collapse of knee next week, eh?

I think the sexual appeal of Ballroom Dancing is up for debate.hampshireman wrote:Did not realise that ballroom dancing was Homosexual.. I am educated
The clothing might be considered effeminate but i think ladies of a certain generation like to see a man in tight trousers and a frilly shirt and a man who can properly dance never goes home alone so i don't think you would struggle to attract either sex as long as you have something to make the wearing of tight trousers appealing.

I knew a bloke who worked as a model for an underwear catalogue.
He just put a sock in it.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
I'm not saying it is! I just know that there will be a certain kind of individual who immediately decides that the two must be associated. For me, ballroom dancing is just ballroom dancing. I just find it quite interesting. A skill to take into your older years, the years of sophistication, wisdom, and grace.hampshireman wrote:Did not realise that ballroom dancing was Homosexual.. Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Bounced a large bundle of mail off a dogs head today. Went through the gate and my momentum carried me almost right up to it. The little bastard was relentless, jammed the bundle into its face, smacked it with it, gave it a boot in the head with the bottom of my boot all the while shouting at it. Had to get the owner to haul the dog inside whilst I retrieved the dropped letters. Got the usual 'it's as soft as clarts' no it's not it's tried to bite me several times, does it have to disfigure someone before its no longer classed as soft? 'It only goes for postmen' So it's my fault for being one then obviously. If i came back with a cricket bat and the missus to verify I'm a gentle type and only go for dogs that attack me it'd be ok if I beat within an inch of its life?
And the walk is at least 20 minutes too long.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Got absolutely hammered today, mail and packets gone through the roof. Left on delivery an hour later than I should do, not helped by 5 junk mails and f***ing polling cards turning up on a busy Thursday. Still got about 500 left to do tomorrow as well. Anyhow booked 1.5 hrs but was one of those days when I just wanted to be done, didn't want to go over was sick of it. Asked manager to send someone out to help me, attitude was 'who do you think we have available???'.

Came back Tuesday after a few days off. Easy Tuesday. Hammered Wednesday. Easier today. They are interviewing potential staff to make up the short fall.
What a baptism of fire it will be in the coming weeks. Ah well...

My reckoning I won't start till beginning of dec/maybe end of nov. it's gonna be scary!heapsy wrote:They are interviewing potential staff to make up the short fall. What a baptism of fire it will be in the coming weeks. Re: The "How was your day" thread.
First day back after injury. Pretty steady day - mail was alright and packets were alright. Finished a little bit before time. Turned up a few minutes early this morning ready to go on a scavenger hunt for all my gear that had gone missing. Managed to find it all. Wouldn't have bothered if it was just their stuff, but some of it was my own stuff that I'd forgotten about due to an unexpected absence. Best news is my knee felt pretty good. Not sure what state the office has been in generally. Don't care either.
