Same here and had to deliver a back log as the round I did today wasn't covered properly on Sat due to people calling off sick! Still it was my choice to work as on holiday this week!!! And now I am on holiday for a week!postypie wrote:wet!![]()

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Came back to work today to be pleasantly surprised that the planners finally fixed my frame. When I last saw my driver's frame it was near perfect except for two errant delivery points. I could have lived with that because I don't know what compelled them to double slot most of the walk so that almost the entire bottom row of the frame is empty
I heard the DSM wasn't too happy with the money being wasted on planners cocking up printing frame labels after paying us OT to redraw the frames and loops in the hope of finally getting P&L settled.

The machine stops.

going to Londinium next week to see if the streets are paved with gold

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Not a bad day at all today - loads of packets but few flats which made up for it. Got done by 12.20 and it stayed dry for a change

Last couple of days were not too bad. Packets still down on the usual. Dry for two days!

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
A lovely sunny day with my jacket off after the first 30 mins
Still quite heavy on the flats and loads of mini jiffy type packets. Pushed it a little today and got around in just under the 4hr mark.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

The easiest (non-lapsing) Thursday of the year by a country mile. Helped by virtually no recordeds or bulky packets.
We'll be lapsing again tomorrow no doubt, but don't really mind after a day like today

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
We lapse 6 days a week, even told us we will be lapsing including Christmas,i have been doing the same bit for 2years now. There are certain "protected" lapsing walks in our office that never go on the vacant duty board.
I expect it will all change when we have our revision (not)
