Re: shares are back
Dingo the agreement can say what it likes but the reality is different. Our Rep did not sign off the agreement, the Area Rep did. For a revision to be delayed was a no no if there was no alternative available. We went into P&L prior to BT 2010 on the advice of the union using the trial results from Durham, this may not have been the national position but it was what was told to our rep who assumed the Area rep had sought advice. When your in your in there's no going back. My posts prior to BT 2010 asked if the position we found ourselves in was reversible in light of the agreement - it wasn't. The union support and communication in this area is abysmal. They even threw a strop because we voted No to BT 2010 and refused to come to the office to speak to the members. Can they be ousted? Can they feck.

Re: shares are back
Dvbuk I have to say your last post really concerns me for the following reasons.
1. No area rep has the authority to sign an offices revisons agreement unless the official does not have a rep and he is the official rep and even then only on the vote of the agreement.
2. The National policy of the union was not to do any revisons as Royal Mail's postion was we did not need any National Agreement to introduce their transformation plan.
3 That your office had no choice concerns me as over 600 other offices believed they had a choice as they called for industrial action ballots and they took action some offices took over 20 days of strikes. They did not take the easy option and agree to what was an easy option to agree a revison against the CWU policy they said no and had executive action imposed.
4. Did you actually get any lump sums if you introduced the revison before the agreement and what benefits did you get ?
Your story is just one of the reasons I believe we have to change the union structure again. In my view a Branch and an area rep should only cover so many offices. Sometimes Branch's merge for either election reasons or financial reasons. I believe that equally Branch's and even local units who fail to adhere to national policies or national agreements should be pulled into line.
Too many on here like to blame those at 150 the Broadway and whilst they are open to criticism , I always find it strange that Branch's and even local reps who know the policy take the easy option and not the right option.

Re: shares are back
I would say this dingo, as I have said many times before, the union representation nationally is not what you enjoy in London. I don't recall the last time I saw a Branch Official, Area or Div Rep but it is certainly years. You are right to say that everything is not the fault of HQ BUT it is under their auspices that these people operate and, it would appear, with impunity. The move to park and loop in my office was before BT2010 with about 7 or 8, on union advice - or supposedly so, now we have just 16 that are non-driver based. The cry was adopt it or they will just impose it. There was no suggestion that a ballot should be called from anyone.dingo wrote:Dvbuk I have to say your last post really concerns me for the following reasons.
