Better not take any photos in the DO depicting such a hypothetical mess, lest people on the outside get the impression things are a mess and make your DOM mess his or her self under the spotlight.

We've got the planners back in coming up to our revision's first anniversary (yeah, feel the party atmosphere). We all got paid to update and correct the walk logs and design the sequence for the frames. DOM told us the changes would be made this weekend as today is a bank holiday and forecast to be as quiet as Tuesday. You might see where this is headed. The electoral register bulk mailing came down via DSA and the planners managed to fix nothing or make it even worse. And it rained all day. :cuppa

First day of park and loop, and I do wonder what the planners had actually been doing? It seems that they have been going to Gregg's and Costa's, and not doing any planning at all. My loop was full of dead walk, reversed streets etc, and it pored down all day. A miserable day, but it is the way forward; roll on the labour camps.

Seems the DOM's forecast was one day out. One of the quietest Tuesdays ever - no packets at all :dance

Not as quiet as the Dom predicted but better than most Wednesdays. Loads of staff missing. Very overcast. Managed to get home before the rain arrived.

Typically shambolic day on park & loop.

Managers 'suspended' prep early in the morning so they could push people out of the doors earlier. Hence there may be mail and packets strewn across the fittings - although this is strictly in that hypothetical phantasmagoria I highlighted in an earlier post. Many walks still cut-off.

I may have laughed at the amount of mail one individual brought back, which may have resulted in a stern rebuke from a manager. So now they have the right to decide when and for what reason we are allowed to laugh?

I explained that it was a private conversation and walked away. Maybe he's stressed. I'm not. :Very Happy

Personally, I love park & loop. I carry nothing. My trusted golf trolley is a worthy adversary as I struggle along. There is not a lot of weight to pull and I feel reasonable at the end of a day. And, added bonus, when you want to go back to the Delivery Office on your time, there is a driver to ensure your passage. It's a wonderful new world we live in. I'm sure the B & H is around the corner, too, but I'm not at all concerned. I simply don't have it in my DNA to get stressed, worried or intimidated by any situation that may arise - unless it's something very stupid of my own doing.

Started the day quietly eating breakfast, then the phone rang. The Dom, "can you come in and do a walk?" Me "mmm, no". Dom "Can you come in and do some packets?" Me "mmmm, Ok then, what you paying me?". Dom "Whatever you do". Arranged to go in for 1pm when the vans were back. Waited half an hour, on the docket, :Very Happy before a driver ended his duty. Went out about 20 minutes later with the first york. Attempted all but one item. Didn't realise they close early and left it till last because I didn't know where the firm was or where to park. Went out with another york. Started a third but ran out of time so took the rest back. Place is in chaos at the moment. Holidays and a few on long term sick mean we just don't have enough staff. added to that we have 3 new starters who are still getting to know their way around the office and the area we cover.

Massive today.

Post by Brainache »

After Tuesday and Wednesday being fairly light on delivery, today was massive. Loads of it must have been due for Tues/Wed.
Plenty of excess though :nana :nana
