Hello there,
I am waiting on a parcel coming from Japan send by EMS, I have been provided with tracking details and it has it tracked up until the 19th July where it has stated 'arrival at inward office of exchange' in Langley HWDC. Since then however I have heard nothing and am getting rather concerned, I assume it is still in customs but should it be there that long? I'm worried it has been lost is there anyone I can contact to find out where it is.
Any help/advice provided would be most helpful.

There may be custom duties to be paid for. In the past you receive a letter asking for payment before being delivered.

Is there anyway to find out about this as it just seems to be stuck in Langley without any explanation as to why. It's really frustrating not knowing what is happening.

Re: Haven't received my parcel
coming from Japan it can take up to a month to arrive as I have previous experience at ordering from there, the customs process can slow things down, it could also be on simple mistake on the the address that slows down or halts the process, you'd be surprised how many people send things out and then leave the house number or road off the address.

If its in the hands of Customs, I wouldnt have thought so.Sarin wrote:Is there anyway to find out about this as it just seems to be stuck in Langley without any explanation as to why. It's really frustrating not knowing what is happening.
Royal Mail dont usualy entertain enquiries from people waiting on items unless you have concerns of mail regularly going missing. They would just advise you to get in contact with the sender.

Re: Haven't received my parcel
I have just contacted the sender who has been in touch with their local post office and they have told them that due to the Olympics there are lengthy delays to parcels coming from abroad as they have reinforced security at the moment. Apparently delivery can take up to 20 days even by EMS so I guess it's just a matter of being patient all that matters is it arrives hopefully sooner rather than later.Patrick Clifton wrote:If its in the hands of Customs, I wouldnt have thought so.Sarin wrote:Is there anyway to find out about this as it just seems to be stuck in Langley without any explanation as to why. Well just an update and it seems as though my parcel is being returned to the sender unbelievable. No delivery attempt was made whatsoever really cannot understand why this has happened.

Give the tracking number a try here:
http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It might give a reason as to why the item is being returned to sender. Items from Japan don't get tracked in the UK (they are treated as recorded delivery items)
