Hi everyone
I need to make 2 claims with royal mail and not sure how to go about this
I have a business on ebay selling items for around £30 .I send all my items 1st class tracked/signed for and never had a problem untill the last month when 2 buyers have opened item not recieved case .I sell 30+ items a day and use paypal/royal mail online post for my items.
When i go in my local post office to post my items each day the post office worker puts 10 tracking numbers on each receipt .When i have gone to check the tracking for the buyers claiming no receipt several of the tracking numbers say being progressed through our network for delivery even after a month they still say this.
I have had to refund my buyers as i couldnt prove delivery and now need to make claims to reclaim my money.I have the claim forms but the problem i have is when filling out the form i do not know which of the tracking numbers to put .Should i just photo copy the receipt and attach the copy to the form.
I have never made a claim before as the only items that have gone missing where small value but with post costs these 2 items where £70 and has cost me my top rated seller status on ebay.
I personally think the buyers had recieved the items and as my parcels are large letter sizes the postman has just put them through the letter box
Can anyone advise my what to do please
Thanks in advance
James

Customer services would appear to be the best port of call to find out what he needs to include...

Hi james for future reference for yourself, first class signed for is not a tracked service, yes you should have gotten a signature on delivery but there is no tracking unfortunately

Can someone clear something up as i'm confused with the claim procedure.
Obviously they haven't been signed for/not delivered/lost whatever so how much can he claim for?
Also there is this...
http://www.royalmail.com/customer-servi ... delay-form" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Age is playing havoc with my memory....
If a packet is undelivered and returned to the callers office, does the status of the packet change from 'being progressed through our network for delivery' to something along the lines of 'Delivery attempted but no answer, returned to depot?'

If it's a recorded and done on a pda it should be scanned back indoors as No Answer: Available for collection.Patrick Clifton wrote:Age is playing havoc with my memory....

If it's been left in a PO it should be scanned as Local Collect.
If it's done on an old EPOD Card.......

you should be claiming for every single unsigned for recorded
standard compo for no sig is a book of 6 1st class stamps
anecdotal reports are that claims up to 7 unsigned items get you stamps
over that you get a cheque for actual 'loss'(X x 95p per item)
simple fact is too many posties(and RM) don't realise the importance of correctly handling signed for items
