here here. phantom shares were always going to be hit or miss. those who took v/r and got a bigger lump had a result. the rest of us will just have to get on with it. when we get privatized we will look back on these windfalls with fond memory.AnotherLimey wrote:So £100 bonus in the next few weeks? not alot i know but better than a kick up the arse as my old gran would have said.

I was thinking about the 2013 pay awardTrueBlueTerrier wrote:No we had the rise this year - it was the 3.5% back in April.gb93 wrote:Ok by me by itself.
Only thing niggling me is no mention of % annual rise yet.
Does this replace that too ?

Re: LTB 455/12 - Colleagueshare/New Incentive Arrangements
Is this the same Dave Ward that when he became DGSP that postman and women in deliveries were still mainly working 6 days per week for peanuts and doing two deliveries where the majority of mail up to 95% was going out on the first delivery leading to a part time work force as for every one second delivery there were up to 6 first deliveries ie the second delivery was doing the equivalent of 6 first delivery addresses.andy prentice wrote:David Ward, just proved yourself as a heartless leader.Next signature on paper i want from you is a resignation with imediate effect.
The Pay and Major change agreement increased basic pay faster than at any time over the last 40 years and for the first time ever introduced a mandatory less than 6 day working. Pay has gone up more in the last 10 years then in the previous 30 years.
Now that is against the fact that the UK market was opened up to the Vulchers before any other market and this allowed others to take 50 percent of the profitable mail and by pass the outward mail centre and transport it to the inward operation and then to be delivered by us. We have had 2 national disputes since Dave got elected and the biggest unoffical dispute since the miners when the naitonal union voted no and London voted yes for London weighting and prior to this there were only 2 in the previous 50 years in 1996 and 1971.
No one who has worked in the industry for last 20 years can compare what we have faced in challenges in the last 10 years everything from pension deficit , to the digital revolution , to EU state aid.
Leighton was a show man he came close to agreeing with the then Labour Government to a partnership with TNT. Colleague share was always a pHoney share and yes people have been paid out money on this scheme but once the EU state aid thing came on the scene then it was clear that on one hand Royal Mail and the Government could not ask for a bail out from the EU at the same time as paying out millions in colleague share.
The new scheme will be devloped and importantly will be voted on by the members including the details something no members had a chance to on colleague share. Plus some of the money is permanent. Yes people would always want more and quicker but there is an awful lot of money still being paid out in ex bonus schemes which members would not want to lose out on including PBS , ICS and the Christmas bonus is an ex IWM bonus scheme payment.

Re: LTB 455/12 - Colleagueshare/New Incentive Arrangements
How can the company be worth less now than it was in 2010 dingo?
We were constantly told that the state of the business was primarily down to the regulatory framework, the commercial loans which had to be paid back and the pension deficit.
Most of those issues have been resolved so even the most crooked accountant could not claim that the business is worth less now.
No one from either the union or management has been able to answer that question.
And where has the £1.2Billion that was held in escrow to protect the pension and returned to Royal Mail Holdings in April gone?

at the end of the day the business has reneged on the pay deal, but what are the union to do? in the world we live in now i expect dave ward realizes there is no appetite for industrial action. i don't think half the people i work with would strike if moya burnt their homes down.

fish you know the score Royal Mail had a pension deficit of over 7 billion pounds , the value of the company was valued a 2.4 billion. The profit of the company was down to GLS and the sell off of sites , the business transformation agreement was and still is behind schedule , the use of the escrow account has conditions attached.
Royal Mail was in all intent of purposes a basket case and Royal Mail exploited that by knowing their prize was European state aid and they could hardly get that if they opened their books up to the EU commission and it had just paid out millions in. Colleague shares based on the achievements of th company.
in the cruel hard way that companies operate that is what has happened to colleague share and we can all go into the blame game but it is not going to Change things.

And yet the EU Commission could swallow the fact that over the same period Royal Mail paid out millions in bonuses to senior RM management based on the achievements of the company.dingo wrote:Royal Mail was in all intent of purposes a basket case and Royal Mail exploited that by knowing their prize was European state aid and they could hardly get that if they opened their books up to the EU commission and it had just paid out millions in. The blame game will be played out in the units up and down the country dingo and the union will take it's share on two fronts.
First of all for using "phantom" money to sell the BT2010 agreement and secondly for making false promises that it would fight last year to secure the value of that money going forward which this "agreement" certainly does not do and as for any new incentive scheme...an incentive for what?...more job losses?

Compared to the bonuses that Green and the other parasites will steal for themselves, that £100 to workers who really do make the nation's postal service half decent, despite the many obstacles put in their way by the above mentioned parasites, is little short of insulting.AnotherLimey wrote:So £100 bonus in the next few weeks? not alot i know but better than a kick up the arse as my old gran would have said.

I fear you may be right and i also think that RM now realise the apathy that exists as witnessed in the Network 12 farce where management appear to be running right through the union and out the other side.silly suffolk wrote:i expect dave ward realizes there is no appetite for industrial action. i don't think half the people i work with would strike if moya burnt their homes down.
There will be more of it to come.

I think it's good that we're getting something out of this colleague share fiasco, I know myself and a lot of people I work with never expected to see a penny of the share money it was just something that looked good at the time to get a pi$$ poor agreement brought in so something is better than nothing. I just hope that this £100 we're getting and the promise of future bonuses wont be used as a distraction for a poor deal.

Don't have enough people secure in their jobs to strike now. Giving nothing but rolling 3 months contracts to new staff is a good way to keep people on a short leash! Probably more of an incentive for bosses to bring it in than all the alleged saving these inhumane contracts make?!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

This colleague share debacle, has certainly got the forum talking. It looks like no one is happy about the new deal. So what about the people who are not on this forum amd will only see the LTB on noticeboards and see the £ signs? It will get voted in if it's put to the vote.

Dingo my faith in the Union is almost no more.Had enough in fact.....like many a lot of my work colleuges are all ready to withdraw our membership. Many reasons in past Years as we have gutless leadership that lack fight.Lasping duties and now this, its starting to get really embarrassing in fact.
Your hero David is no where bigger than the union members,as we not him are more important than him,but sadly will be losing more members due to this mess

£100 less tax and insurance....pro-rata of course.heathrow86 wrote:So what about the people who are not on this forum amd will only see the LTB on noticeboards and see the £ signs? It will get voted in if it's put to the vote.
That won't even fill my car with fuel.
You're right though if it comes to a vote the members will accept it...but unfortunately that will only be because they have zero faith that our fearless "negotiators" could get any more.
I will be 100% honest with you,i find it an insult and i would rather not have it and to those that say it's better than a kick in the arse it's not because it's a kick in the teeth.
The message we will be sending out by accepting this is come and get us RM,we've folded, you took the piss, moved the goalposts and conned the union...and we still lay down and took it.
Management and Moya and Higson in particular must be pissing themselves right now...£100
