Collections
As I've mentioned previously, I run a small online shop, sending out no more than 20 packets a week. I usually take smaller packets down the road to the post box (<1 min walk, you can see it from the window) down the road, having paid with online postage, and larger ones have to wait until the Saturday when I can get to the Post Office. I'd like to start sending my packets recorded delivery/International Signed For, but for the smaller ones, it will mean they can't be posted until the next Saturday. I looked on the RM website, and you have to pay crazy amounts of money (for the volume I'm sending) for a collection. I'm just wondering if there's any way I could get it done cheaper or free, do any of you know if it would be possible to give the postman who empties the box my recorded items to take and scan, because the real problem is that they need to be scanned, which the post office can do and the post box can't. (Shame we haven't got those German ones - http://www.dhl.de/en/paket/privatkunden ... ation.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) Thanks

Re: Collections
scan with what? The PDAs don't have the same function as the Post Office systems
At 20 packets a week you have to understand its a tiny volume to have someone collecting from you?

Re: Collections
They don't,if I had to pick up a lot of recordeds, the customer would peel of a sticker and put it on a sheet, the sheet would then go in a bag and no doubt disappear later on.Pointless exercise tbh.Collections do not Individually scan in registered either, they just sign for a bag of them or a pouch.matthewbutler wrote:I understood that they did, otherwise how do big collections with recordeds get scanned?custard wrote:scan with what? It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
