Airmail to the USA

Post by vivcal »

Hi,

I ordered a cricket bat from North Yorkshire, UK. It shipped on Wednesday (11th April) by Royal Mail airmail.
I live in California, USA. Are there any delays currently? How long will it take approximately?

You'll have to wait a bit longer yet. A quick & simple check of the RM website says 5-7 days for standard airmail to the US of A. As for any delays, if it is beyond that timeframe then yes there are delays. Do bear in mind that it could also be your postal services causing any delay too.

Thanks for that information. Is the quoted 5-7 days business days or all days of the week? What I meant by "are there any delays currently?" is are there any reported delays like weather, security etc.
As for USA customs, how likely is it that my package will get stopped?

Thanks

I had a packet take longer than expected to reach its destination in USA, more than 7 days and it was Airmail, with customs form etc.. No reason that I could find, just one of those things!

USA customs - sending stuff over there a customs form is meant to be filled in and used - did the sender do this? (and not every PO counter worker spots/remembers the need for such a form if missing from the packet so they can slip through without.)

It's been 2 weeks since my parcel was shipped via airmail,
and I still haven't received anything. Is it lost?

Give it 3 weeks then put in a claim/get your money back from the seller.

In my experience, airmail from the UK to USA is 4-9 days depending on state (NY and CA are generally quicker than mainland states).

But as stated above, customs delays can make it weeks..

Hope that helps!! :Very Happy
