A DARE-devil postie has been captured completing a hair-raising stunt that has gone viral.

In a video obtained by the Geelong Advertiser, the postie, is pictured tackling a make-shift jump at high speed before crashing in a residential street.

The 23-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous did the jump just days after handing in his resignation with Australia Post.

He declined to comment when approached at his home last night but revealed he was virtually uninjured in the crash during his daily mailing round.

The Geelong Advertiser can confirm the postie was egged on by tradies to tackle the purpose-built jump and filmed him careering over the platform.

A white vehicle parked in the no-through-road blocks the postie's subsequent crash, in which he lost skin off his hip and arm.

Australia Post contractor David Wilson only learnt of the stunt when contacted by the Geelong Advertiser last night.

Mr Wilson said he questioned the postie yesterday in relation to the damaged Honda motorbike and was told his employee had hit an animal.

Sergeant Kevin Warburton of Anglesea police last night viewed the video and said the postie faced criminal charges and labelled the stunt stupid.
