SACKED THEN RE-INSTATED

Post by THE DIVET LICKER »

We in supply chain had a manager sacked for serious breaches of security whilst out helping on deliveries on a one man van. After about six months, he was re-instated and paid back loss of earnings over that period which he had been sacked. He did not get his job back with us as a replacement manager had now been put in place and so he is now sitting on gardening leave on full pay. Our guys are now thinking that the precedent has been set in this case and now feel that if any of us breach security and face the sack, then the union have a strong case to back us up. Word on the street was that he said he had been suffering from stress and this was mainly the reason for the re-instatement. Surely the same result must be given to all employees as I think Supply Chain have boobed this time and left the door open for us all. Does anyone agree with this post.
