OUR PENSION SOLUTION (RM)
Well what can one say well i will start with basics ours yours and mine has been privatised it says in the leaflet in question as the assets can be traded as shares which as you all know can go up or down. Now if you look to the bottom left page before last we have HOW DID WE GET INTO THIS SITUATION?. Well i will not reiterate the bullsh!t but they neglect to tell you the pension holiday for ten years and the fact we have had 55000 people who have left the business which most if not all are entitled to the pensions earned with 55000 less paying in and the very fact they could all live a lot longer!. But what is to say the new fund RMPP will not suffer the same fate as they look to cut staff till this end's their will be no solution to the pension funds problems that have beset the company!. I challenge Moya Greene to come on here and refute what i have said in this brief post as i have no confidence upon our people at the top who will stick their head in the sand and not listen to the truth.

Re: OUR PENSION SOLUTION (RM)
I think I get the drift of your post - however the new Pension will be different in one way which makes a great deal of difference in the short and medium term. The 55,000 that have left recently and the 200,00 or so retired people will not be getting their pensions from the new fund, and indeed neither will we except from when we change over. So the new pension will have no liabilities to start with, and the amount they will be paying out on pensions will be very small for quite a while.k979aaa wrote:Well what can one say well i will start with basics ours yours and mine has been privatised it says in the leaflet in question as the assets can be traded as shares which as you all know can go up or down. However, for the long term I can't see why we won't be facing the same trouble again in around 15 years.

Re: OUR PENSION SOLUTION (RM)
The Royal Mail Pension Scheme is at least safe, as it should be the longer the privatisation fiasco goes on the more shaky our pension future would be, it was at risk of collapsing and becoming insolvent, as had happened to some companies that folded and took the pension scheme down with it.
At least we can breathe a little bit easier on this one, I have about 21 years accrued in the old pension scheme that is safe, as the taxpayers will be funding it, after all the money creamed off during the pension holiday was funding the tax cuts by previous governments.

For this is exactly the same problem till the head count remains roughly the same as it was on the 31/3/2012 it will inevitably fall into deficit as less pay in the system!.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I think I get the drift of your post - however the new Pension will be different in one way which makes a great deal of difference in the short and medium term. Correct, as with the Pension being taken on by the Government, it does not solve the underlying problems, it merely delays them for a generation or so.k979aaa wrote:For this is exactly the same problem till the head count remains roughly the same as it was on the 31/3/2012 it will inevitably fall into deficit as less pay in the system!.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I think I get the drift of your post - however the new Pension will be different in one way which makes a great deal of difference in the short and medium term. Sometimes, I wonder if the people living in the Roman Empire just before its fall realised what was happening. Or if we do:
Ignoring the Huns and Visigoths everything else is there. The reasons for the fall of the empire include military overreach, invasion by emboldened tribes of Huns and Visigoths from northern and central Europe, inflation, corruption and political incompetence.
